WFL were contracted to complete the Electrical Sub-Contract works associated with Call Offs 01-04 as part of the Advanced Works Package for the new National Maternity Hospital development at the St. Vincent’s University Hospital Campus.
Call Off 04 was completed in June 2026 and the scope of this phase included the construction of a new staff canteen, kitchens and new ward block on the roof of and adjacent to Block P. This projected required high levels of Engineering design development and coordination with the Main Contractor & Mechanical Contractor.
As part of the Electrical Sub-Contract, WFL supplied and installed the following systems; Bespoke Medical Bedhead Units, Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting, Complete Security System to include Access Control & CCTV, Nurse Call, LV Power & Distribution.
WFL were engaged by St. Vincents University Hospital to complete an Acute Care upgrade to two wards in Block H in the hospital and also to expand the existing ICU by 2 No. isolation rooms. These works were carried out over two separate phases.
WFL were appointed as the main contractor on this project and were responsible for the PSDP, PSCS and all sub-contracts to the main contract. WFL completed the electrical contract and sub-contracted all other works.
Phase 1 of the project was carried out in a live hospital environment in the height of the Covid-19 national lockdown in April 2020. Phase 2 works were carried out in a live ICU ward. Both phases required high levels of co-ordination with the hospital technical and infection control departments. The works were designed and completed to current HTM and HBN regulations.
WFL provided IPS Power Units, Medical Trunking, Medical Pendants, Medical Gases, Nurse Call, Lighting, Emergency Lighting and General Power to 51 Acute Care Beds in Phase 1 and 2 No. ICU isolation rooms in Phase 2 of the contract.
WFL, under contract with Titanium Developments Ltd., carried out the electrical works associated a new MRI machine project for St. Vincent’s Private Hospital in 2022.
