Owen is a degree qualified engineer in Energy and Environmental Engineering from the Institute of Technology Tallaght and also has a degree in Electrical Services and Energy Management from Dublin Institute of Technology
Owen originally started with WFL in 2016 as an estimator, and was quickly identified as a candidate to head up our in house BIM Department.
Owen then completed the relevant courses to get started in BIM in which he excelled. He then commenced his internship in WFL and started his part time Masters Degree in BIM in DIT as part of the WFL education programme.
Owen was then promoted to BIM Manager of the business and as BIM Manager for WFL, Owen heads up our in house BIM Department and has the overall responsibility to ensure all our BIM deliverable’s meet our client’s requirements. Owen is also responsible for providing staff training and managing the company BIM standards.
WFL has been working in a BIM environment for over 6 years now and this has improved the quality of all our projects.
Owen’s role stretches to every part of the business. From assisting our estimating department with understanding designs via BIM models, to coordination BIM models for construction, and preparing Asset Information Models for handover to our clients.
WFL have invested heavily in BIM as it is essential to the digital construction strategy of the company.
Owen has graduated with a first class honours M.Sc in applied Building Information Modelling and Management from TU Dublin.
